NOTE - The TECO room developed sound problems before this lecture. Dr. Spector was provided a wireless microphone that was able to pick up most of the other speakers. Therefore, the introductions are somewhat faint but Dr. Spector's voice is quite clear.
Violence in the workplace has become recognized as a
significant hazard to employee health and well-being. Although homicide and nonfatal assault are rare in all but a few high-risk occupations, verbal aggression is common in all jobs. Antecedents of both violence and aggression will be discussed. As will be noted, even relatively minor verbal aggression can have negative effects on people's well-being.
